Wisian Capital understands the importance of Corporate Social Investment in empowering individuals to uplift themselves and their communities. We give consideration to this in our procurement policies and training programs. Our staff members are also actively involved in community upliftment initiatives. We have also conducted internships with students from previously disadvantaged backgrounds over the past 3 years.
Wisian Capital is also a member of the First Avenue Institute which aims to stimulate interest in the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) sector for schoolgirls from previously disadvantaged schoolgirl’s backgrounds in Africa. The program includes a week long winter camp for the girls where they engage in robotics training, life skills training and site visits to leading science-oriented organisations (e.g., national space agency). The program is unique in its focus area which is often overlooked in Africa.
